Leigh

Leigh works in "finished goods." Once Chris has produced the yarns, Leigh takes over and does all the knitting and felting.

About Us

Mountain Shadow Farm is the husband, wife and dog team of Chris Luczynski, Leigh Chandler and Bennie the Bichon..

Leigh

Leigh's mother taught her to knit as a child, and she's been partaking in that family tradition ever since. The one oddity is that Leigh, who's right handed, knits left handed because of the way her mother (a leftie) taught her. When not knitting, Leigh's full time job is in the health care industry.

Chris

Chris became interested in spinning yarns and raising animals after visiting the Champlain Valley Fair one summer and deciding it would be fun to learn. After many classes, a great deal of practice, and a whole lot of bad yarn, Chris finally started producing quality yarns, and Leigh agreed to knit with them.

When not spinning or working with the animals, Chris is probably traveling, hiking or working at his day job as an engineer.

Bennie

No, we don't shear her, but Bennie is every bit as much of the farm as any of the other animals. Her favorite activities include barking at things that aren't there and rolling in the stuff that comes out of the back end of the llamas. She also enjoys eviscerating her chew toys.

Chris

Chris works with "raw goods". That includes the animal care, cleaning the barn, and general animal welfare. He also performs all the dyeing and spinning. He also created this website!
